Our Next Journey

We listened. We cannot give up the call of Pope John Paul II during the 1995 World Youth Day to minister to the young who are the poorest segment of society.

Twenty memorable and fruitful years have swiftly passed. YUPPEACE people were present as the ates and kuyas in many youth activities of Don Bosco. We can count one priest and five religious sisters plus the many vibrant young Catholic families from our ranks. Some of us have joined the Salesian Cooperators. We have given the Salesian Lay Volunteers to the Province, as well as the SYALA that developed from the very first Happy Birthday Tatang organized by the YUPPEACE.

We listened again. We had to bid good-bye to our faith community YUPPEACE. We searched. We prayed. We hang on. We found renewed inspiration with Pope Francis, who sends us again to the young, this time with compassion.

We have chosen September 8, 2015, the birthday of Mama Mary, as the opportune day to offer to Saint John Bosco on his 200th birthday a totally renewed and bold ministry for young adults. Today, from the ashes rises PEACEWORKS103.

PEACEWORKS103 is not merely an upgraded version of YUPPEACE. Still we affirm our yes to Saint John Bosco and the Salesians. We are an Alliance of young adults committed to give our personal contribution towards the welfare of the young and the children. We will offer a basic formation package culled from our 20 years experience to make young adults caregivers to the young. We adopted an open and flexible alliance structure to accommodate most especially the un-churched.

Yes, we are and will always be the Young Adults Ministry of the FIN Province. We have the history, the mandate, and the inspiration.
